It's dry!

Here it is...the very last of the fabric, cut into little pieces, all the little "trimmings" and I added little bits of bright yarns to make this FABRIC BOWL. .... So there it is, my challenge that literally used 100% of my fabric. It was hard to get a good picture of it. I made it by laying all the fabric pieces, etc. in between layers of Super Solvy, stitched in grids, diagonally and then a little bit of free motion and washed it almost all out, but left a bit of the Solvy in to hold the shape. I draped it over a bowl to form it. If you wash the Solvy completely out, it would have been flimsy with no form or shape.

And so to reward myself (I've also been cleaning out scrap bins, and have made 2 things already...another chapter), I bought this: more pinks/blacks as I'm doing a room in those colors so it really was necessary! :) And then that poppy print--I just loved it! so I bought a little fabric to go with it because I KNOW that I won't have anything to go with it at home.

You shop for fabric like I shop for clothes - if I can't find a matching garmet in the store with the other piece in hand - it doesn't come home with me. Always nice to know you have a matching selection!

And, your fabric bowl should be useful!

Cheers!

love the bowl. Very creative way to use absolutely all the fabric.

That bowl is fantastic!! I saw that poppy fabric in the Keepsake newsletter, and it would look so nice in my mom's living room, that i may have to get some as well...

Oh my, I've never seen a bowl like that. I'm kinda sorry that I saw it though, because I have trouble deciding how small is too small to keep, and after making postcards, the size got a lot smaller. Now with this, I can keep even more.

I know this is an old post but I navigated here from who knows where now. I love this bowl and I love that you used those little bitty pieces.

I've been throwing my little slivers out for the birds (to hopefully) pick up and use in their nests. They may not get them anymore.

Super idea and it's quite beautiful. Can you actually use it or is it still a bit too soft to put things in it?
